SI’s John Heyman has a ton of offseason notes in his latest hot stove article.

- Heyman says that neither Matt Holliday nor Jason Bay are any closer to re-signing with their 2009 teams than they were when the offseason began. In Bay’s case, he may even be further away.

- Cliff Lee will not be giving the Phillies any sort of hometown discount. Lee is expected to seek $23 million per deal if and when he becomes a free agent after the 2010 season.

- The Mariners, who are stressing defense and pitching, may be pursuing Lackey more than Bay.

- The Mets are currently concentrating on Bay and catcher Bengie Molina.

- The Yankees would like to bring Johnny Damon back for Bobby Abreu-type money (2 years, $18 million), but Damon is looking for 3-4 years at $13 million per year.
