Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports that the Cubs have stepped up their pursuit of free agent outfielder Marlon Byrd, now that Mike Cameron has been locked up by the Red Sox.
Before they can outlay the funds needed to land Byrd, though, the Cubs may have to deal Milton Bradley. Bradley is due $21 million over the next two seasons, the bulk of which the Cubs will likely have to eat in order to move him.
