George A. King III of the New York Post is reporting that Brian Cashman, Yankees’ GM, doesn’t have concrete ideas about retaining his free agents or signing free agents from other teams.
The Yankees will certainly not have any of its major free agents (Hideki Matsu, Johnny Damon and Andy Pettitte) in the fold before Nov.20. There is also no indication that the Yankees will be involved in any talks for Jason Bay or John Lackey.
We all know the Yankees have taken a wait and see approach the last few seasons and it has worked to their advantage, especially with last year’s swipe of Mark Texeira from the Red Sox in the last hour.
