Patrick Newman of NPBTracker.com is making a case for Hideki Matsui to remain in the American League.
The two teams that may be a good fit according to Newman are the White Sox and the Orioles. There was some talk about the Mariners, but the M’s have signed Ken Griffey and there was also chatter that Ichiro and Matsui were not the best of friends, so that would kill that possibility.
The White Sox are trying to get younger, letting Jermain Dye go, so I’m not sure that would work. The Orioles on the other hand do have a lot of young talent and Matsui could definitely be a veteran leader that can bring a winning work ethic to the franchise.
