The 42 year-old sure-handed shortstop inks a 1-year, $1.375 million contract with Chicago.
Vizquel, who batted .266 in 62 games with the Rangers last season, has always been known as a defensive specialist. His career .984 fielding percentage is the highest ever among shortstops with at least 1,000 games played.
As had been reported previously, Vizquel will be the backup shortstop for the White Sox in 2010.
