Tim Dierkes of MLBTradeRumors.com has just put out his top 50 list of 2010 Baseball Free Agents and where he sees them signing.

I figured it would be a great exercise to look at his top 5 and offer my opinion as well.

1. Matt Holiday – Tim says the Mets. I think the Mets would love to have him, but will not want to pay up for him. I could see the Yankees making a move here, if not, I think he stays with the Cardinals.
2. John Lackey – Tim says the Yankees. I tend to agree. Pettitte is an unknown, and Wang’s future with the Yanks may be in serious doubt. The Jaba Chamberlain project as a starter is a disaster. The Yankees would be set with C.C., A.J. and Lackey for the next 4-5 years. Talk about a 1-2-3 combination.
3. Jason Bay – Tim says Red Sox. I think the Red Sox desperately need to bring Bay back. If not, Boston fans will likely see him in a Yankee uniform as they would let Damon and Matsui go to upgrade the position and get younger.
4. Chone Figgins – Tim says Angels. I totally agree as Chone was awful in the playoffs and likely cost himself some dollars and likely many other bidders.
5. Randy Wolf – Tim says Mets. I agree once again. The Mets will sniff around at Lackey, but will focus more on Wolf. They will need to prepare a 3-year offer I believe. The Dodgers may stay in the mix as well.

Check out the rest of Tim’s list here.
