Mark Feinsand and Bill Madden of the New York Daily News are reporting the Red Sox are “putting on a full-court press” to acquire Roy Halladay, according to a source.
The Red Sox are hoping to make a deal before the winter meetings starting December 7. A deal for Halladay would likely involve pitcher Clay Buchholz, the organization’s top young pitcher, as well as Casey Kelly, the pitcher/shortstop who signed with the Red Sox in 2008.
Now the Yankees will also factor in at some point as well. The Blue Jays would likely want to select from top prospects such as Austin Jackson and Jesus Montero, as well as either Phil Hughes or Joba Chamberlain in a deal.
