Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports is putting out a scenario where Tim Lincecum could potentially ask for over $20 million in his side of arbitration.

Both the Giants and Lincecum’s agent are preparing their arbitration figures and we will know soon how much each side is offering to sign for.

As an example to consider, Yankee captain Derk Jeter filed for $18.5 million before agreeing to a 10-year, $189-million contract. Lincecum and his agent are receptive to signing a contract extension, so we’ll see if both sides can hammer something out.
