The Blue Jays had their best chance to get the biggest return for Roy Halladay this past summer, but former GM J.P. Ricciardi blew that chance badly.
Now the front office is making some comments as to the idea of entertaining offers for Halladay this winter. Halladay is going into the final year of his 3 year/$40 million deal. It appeared as if the Jays and Phillies were going to get close last year, but the Jays apparently had turned down an offer of J.A. Happ, Carlos Carrasco, Michael Taylor and Jason Donald from the Phillies. The Jays will never see an offer that good again, but there should be some serious interest from teams that believe they can get Halladay to agree to a multi-year deal.
