Todd Zolecki of MLB.com is reporting that Jamie Moyer had minor surgery today to wash out a small blood collection that could have been infected.
Moyer was forced to miss the majority of the playoffs after suffering a tear in his groin that needed surgery. He had been rehabbing well until this recent setback put him back in the hospital a few days back. Doctors expect him to be fine and back to preparing for spring training on schedule.
The Phillies organization will certainly be happy to have Moyer’s veteran leadership back in the fold for 2010.
