The Sporting News is citing a Canadian web site, SLAM Sports as saying the pitching ace would waive his no-trade clause to join the Yankees in the event a trade can be worked out.
There has been much speculation around a possible Jays-Yankees swap, with Yankees prospects catcher Jesus Montero and outfielder Austin Jackson being two of top prospects mentioned, as well as a choice of New York right-handers Joba Chamberlain or Phil Hughes.
This report does not surprise us. Why wouldn’t Halladay approve a deal to the defending World Series champs? The big news would be if he said no to a deal!
