Frankie Piliere of AOL FanHouse is reporting that the Atlanta Braves have two of their top starters on the block, Derek Lowe and Javier Vazquez.

Lowe is more likely depart and would certainly come cheaper than Vazquez, but the Braves won’t get nearly the same return for the former as they would the latter. Atlanta could use the contract relief that would come with dealing Lowe, who has three years and around $45 million left on his contract.

As for possible destination, the Mets and Yankees are on the board.

Piliere is also reporting that the Aroldis Chapman sweepstakes will likely come down to the Yankees and Red Sox. There is tons of risk to a move like this, which is why the team that does not get him, should push hard for Roy Halladay in my opinion.

Also, there are apparently numerous teams that have put reliever Rafael Soriano on the top of their freee agent wish list. Look for him to get a big deal.
